Dr. Kenneth Murray, MD FRCSC

  • Professor

Dr. Murray was born in London, Ontario, but lived in many locations across Canada growing up. He obtained his Bachelor of Arts (BA) at the University of Western Ontario and subsequently obtained his M.D. at Dalhousie University. He attended the University of Western Ontario for internship and residency, and obtained subsequent fellowships at University Hospital, University of Western Ontario, and Southern Illinois University in Springfield, Illinois. 

Dr. Murray joined the Department of Surgery at the University of Manitoba in 1982 and set up practice in Winnipeg, Manitoba.  He is currently a full Professor in the Department of Surgery and has held the positions of Program Director and Section Head in Plastic Surgery.  He has been a member of various committees at international, national, provincial and local levels, including President of the Canadian Society of Plastic Surgeons as well as President of the Educational Foundation of the Canadian Society of Plastic Surgeon, President of the Canadian Microsurgical Society and President of the Canadian Society for Surgery of the Hand. Dr. Murray has also been Chief Examiner in Plastic Surgery for the Royal College of Surgeons of Canada. He has also worked with Operation Smile in Kenya and Vietnam.

Dr. Murray's interests include art, music, and reading. His hobbies include a newly acquired interest in fishing and boating. 

One of Dr. Murray's greatest pleasures is teaching Plastic Surgery to residents and students.
